Thanks for the patch.  Rob is the author of the undo system and has been 
talking about making some significant changes to it in the near future 
to solve all our various undo bugs, so I'll let him look at your patch 
and comment.

Yes.

Yes.  In fact, it's actively encouraged: if you see a bug in trunk 
that's not currently present in our ticket database, filing a ticket is 
the best way to communicate that.

I can confirm that I see both of these bugs in trunk.  I've created 
tickets for these.
