Hi

I turned on the logging, and got the following output:

[DBG] Photo.vala:119: Importing file
/home/rich/Pictures/2004/07/03/polperro panorama_edited.jpg
[DBG] ThumbnailCache.vala:316: Importing thumbnail for polperro
panorama_edited.jpg to [3487]
/home/rich/.shotwell/thumbs/thumbs360/thumb0000000000000d9f.jpg
[DBG] ThumbnailCache.vala:316: Importing thumbnail for polperro
panorama_edited.jpg to [3487]
/home/rich/.shotwell/thumbs/thumbs128/thumb0000000000000d9f.jpg

ERROR:Photo.vala:1032:transformable_photo_load_raw_pixbuf: assertion
failed: (dimensions_approx_equals (&scaled_image, (_tmp5_ =
(dimensions_for_pixbuf (pixbuf, &_tmp4_), _tmp4_), &_tmp5_), 1))
Aborted

I've put the picture in question on Amazon S3, it's very wide (7078 x
800, just under a meg in size):

Hope this helps

Rich
ps: if you're interested, it's a fishing village in Cornwall in the
South West of England
