[Shotwell] PicasaWeb support

Hello.

Last year, Philip Withnall asked about PicasaWeb support with consideration
for libgdata's PicasaWeb support.[1] Since then, it appears Shotwell as
acquired its own PicasaWeb upload support.[2][3] Also since then, libgdata
is now in use by Eye of GNOME Plugin's new plugin Postasa (like their Postr
plugin for Flickr) to upload photos to PicasaWeb.

I was wondering whether Yorba and the Shotwell community would prefer
maintaining their own support, or whether they'd be open to having said
support replaced with something smaller that relies on libgdata and its Vala
bindings.

As the author of Postasa and most of the PicasaWeb support in libgdata, I'd
be volunteering for this. In particular, if there are any features absent
from Shotwell's PicasaWeb support that are desired, I'd be happy to add them
to libgdata. I understand, however, if the current Shotwell PicasaWeb
support is adequate and you'd prefer to keep it around. I do have
experience with Vala as I do half of my private coding in it now.

Sorry that I didn't volunteer earlier. I actually wasn't aware of
Shotwell's existence until the Fedora 13 Beta release notice that was sent
out today.[4]

Cheers,
  Richard Schwarting
