[Shotwell] Fedora Summer Coding Project

Hey,

thanks for the feedback and ideas.

What I mean with compare photo view is shown on this website:

The following page shows what I mean with "pass in" or "fill (here zoom

The creation of the GEGL pipeline by the core team makes sense to me.
However I really like the idea of improving the slideshow mode. Adding
transitions and background music sounds like a great project to me. Do
you have any ideas on how to implement that? sound should work via
Gstreamer but transitions could be implemented with Clutter or Cairo
(F-Spot does this).
