Hello,
I have updated my system to Lucid Lynx where shotwell is present in the
repository and it looks like it does not work well there.
First of all, when progress bar is displaying the loading state during
startup, the following lines flood the terminal:
(shotwell:4753): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_value_get_pointer:
assertion `G_VALUE_HOLDS_POINTER (value)' failed
When the main window is loaded, the "Photos" meta-event is selected but
no images are displayed in the image pane. It looks like redrawing is
not happening.
It is possible to trigger the redraw by clicking on one of the "photos".
In this case the whole aria is redrawn, however during scrolling some
photos are still missing or only partially displayed.
When photos are imported, the event pane is not updated with the new
nodes, the photos are only available via Photos meta-event.
Facebook upload plugin seems to be having problems during
initialization.
The following is printed to the terminal:
Entity: line 183: parser error : expected '>'
</photos_getAlbums_resp
^
Entity: line 183: parser error : Opening and ending tag mismatch:
photos_getAlbums_response line 2 and photos_getAlbums_resp
</photos_getAlbums_resp
^
However, the photos do get uploaded but it looks like it performs pretty
serious computations consuming a lot of CPU time to upload every photo.
Additionally, it is not possible to build shotwell from 0.4.3 sources in
stock Lucid Lynx install with Vala 0.7.10, see
http://paste.ubuntu.com/385037/
Compilation failed: 12 error(s), 56 warning(s)
I will be happy to provide any additional info regarding the issue. I
know this has to go to bug reports, but I'd appreciate that if someone
else could confirm these issues.
