[Shotwell] Contributing to Yorba/Shotwell

Hello,

Sorry for not chiming in sooner -- took a long weekend off and have
been busy catching up today.

First, we definitely appreciate all contributions from the community,
from code to translations to design work. This is all important to
us, and it's this kind of great effort that will only make Shotwell
even better. We can do a better job of opening up the project to the
community and making it easier for contributors to jump in. I
definitely appreciate the willingness you're showing, David -- thanks!

We haven't formally decided which direction we want to go with the
documentation. We know it should be DocBook or Mallard but no hard
decision has been made here as to which one. We'd like to discuss
this matter and come to some consensus here before you go *too* deep
one direction or another. We're aware that Mallard is what GNOME is
pushing today, but we want to weigh all the options before declaring
what system we want to roll with.

That said, David, I'm excited that you're excited about this project.
If you could create an account on our Trac system
(http://trac.yorba.org), you can assign #1143 to yourself, to prevent
duplication of effort. We all can discuss the particulars of what
we're looking for in the help docs here and/or the ticket's comments.
Robert Ancell's suggestions are a good start, especially for
Mallard-style documentation. Something you can do while we're
deciding is to look over our existing help documentation for things
you like and don't like; what can be improved; what's missing; and so
forth. Whatever system we go with we'll want screenshots to accompany
the text. You're free to consider using the ones on our system or
your own. The link to the latest docs is:

Cheers!

-- Jim
