Lorenzo,
thanks for your suggestion. Today, Shotwell allows you to choose any
external editor which has registered itself as handling the MIME types
that represent images. In other words, Shotwell lets you choose any
editor which shows up in the "Open With" context menu when you right
click the image file in Nautilus. We agree that it would be nice to be
able to choose other editors as well - we have a ticket for this at
http://trac.yorba.org/ticket/2014 . This won't make 0.6, but hopefully
we'll get to this before too long.
