[Shotwell] New shotwell user: Gnome accessibility

Shotwell requires a double-click on thumbnails to open them in the
main view window. I cannot double click, I have KDE set for
single-click mode so that a single click on thumbnails in Digikam will
open the photo in the viewer. Can such a feature be added to Shotwell?
Is this dependant on Gnome? If so, here is the relevant feature
request for Gnome:
