[Shotwell] Immediate stall upon start

Hi,

Impressed by the look of Shotwell in an Ubuntu10.10 installation I want to
try it on my x86_64 Ubuntu 10.04 machine. However when started, the gui (at
least) immedialely hangs, as shown in the attatched image. I cannot even
press the OK button, and the windows does not "redraw".

Also create a new "un-tainted" user and started shotwell, with the same
result.

The process looks as follows

ps ax|grep shotw
 4116 ?        Sl     0:00 shotwell
