[Shotwell] Shotwell 0.7.3

Hi,
I'm running problem during photos importation with Shotwell build from trunk
(so 0.7.2+trunk).
After having selected a folder to import, Shotwell just shut down without
explicit output in the console...

I need videos importation, so when will the 0.7.3 version be released (or
available in tarballs)?
Another question is: does a manual installation (from downloaded tarball or
from the repo) can be updated from a future Ubuntu update like any other
Ubuntu default app?
