I've just thought of a snag of doing this with shotwell. The tag
hierarchy in f-spot was always 'remembered' on re-import, and I've
always assumed this is because f-spot does not allow the same tag to be
used in more than once place. So on import, the tags can only be in one
place in the hierarchy. This is not the case with shotwell. An
interesting puzzle. Perhaps I need to stop concentrating on content-rich
filenames.
